Quran classes for new Muslims at LQO start from the very beginning: the meaning of your Shahadah, how to make wudu, how to pray, and how to read Surah Al-Fatiha.
Lessons are private, one-to-one and in English, with no pressure and no question too basic. Your first week is free.

A Fresh Start
The Prophet, peace be upon him, told Amr ibn al-As that accepting Islam wipes out what came before it (Sahih Muslim 121). You begin with a clean page.
That is why our classes focus on what to do next, one step at a time, rather than on everything at once. Learning your new faith is meant to feel steady and calm, not overwhelming.
First 30 Days
Most new Muslims follow a route like this. Your teacher adjusts it to how quickly you are moving and what you need first.
| Week | What You Learn |
|---|---|
| Week 1 | The meaning of the Shahadah, wudu step by step, and the times of the five prayers |
| Week 2 | The positions of Salah and short phrases such as Allahu Akbar and SubhanAllah |
| Week 3 | Surah Al-Fatiha, word by word, with its meaning in English |
| Week 4 | Praying a full Salah, a short surah, and your first Arabic letters |
If you took your Shahadah just before Ramadan or Eid, your teacher brings the basics of fasting or Eid prayer forward so you can take part with confidence.
Praying Before You Know Arabic
Yes. You start praying straight away and learn the words as you go. Sunan Abi Dawud (832) records a man who could not yet learn any Quran being taught to say SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, La ilaha illallah and Allahu Akbar instead.
Your teacher helps you learn Surah Al-Fatiha in Arabic as quickly as you comfortably can, so your prayer grows steadily, week by week.

After the Basics
Once you pray with confidence, the next step is reading the Quran yourself. You can learn Quran as a revert through the same route every learner follows, starting with the Noorani Qaida.
Alongside reading, our Islamic studies classes cover belief, fasting, family life and the life of the Prophet in more depth, at your own pace.
Quran classes for new Muslims also leave room for questions about daily life, such as halal food, praying at work and explaining your faith to friends and colleagues.
Comparison
Several charities and Islamic centres run free programmes for new Muslims, often with recorded videos and group sessions.
| Question | Free Revert Programme | One-to-One Classes |
|---|---|---|
| Cost | Free | A monthly plan after a free week |
| Pace | Set by the programme | Set by you and your teacher |
| Salah and wudu correction | Rarely individual | Checked live on camera |
| Personal questions | Often in a group | Private, with one teacher |
| Community | A strong benefit | Not part of the class |
A free programme and a local masjid give you community. One-to-one classes give you personal correction. Many new Muslims benefit from both.
Questions
Still have a question? Our team answers on WhatsApp and will help you pick the right course and time.
Yes. Lessons are one-to-one and booked at times that suit you. Many new Muslims learn quietly at first while family conversations happen at their own pace.
No. You only need to change a name if its meaning is clearly against Islam, which is rare. Many Muslims keep the name they were born with, and your teacher can explain this further.
Yes. Women can ask for a female teacher, which many sisters find easier when learning wudu, ghusl and the rules of prayer for the first time.
No. Teenagers and whole families who have accepted Islam together can join. Children of new Muslim families often start with our Islamic studies for kids course.
Both are used. Some prefer revert, based on the belief that everyone is born on natural faith, called fitrah. Others say convert. Use whichever word you feel comfortable with, and your teacher will do the same.
Everyone does at the start. Allah knows you are learning, and your teacher will correct you gently and patiently until each part of your Salah feels natural.
