Why Memorize
The Quran has been preserved in the hearts of Huffaz since it was revealed, alongside the written Mushaf. Memorizing it keeps that chain alive in your own family. Many students begin with a smaller goal, such as Surah Al-Mulk or Surah Al-Kahf, and build from there.
The Prophet, peace be upon him, said the companion of the Quran will be told to recite and rise, and that their rank will be at the last verse they recite (Sunan Abi Dawud 1464).
Daily System
Online Quran memorization classes at LQO follow the three-part routine used in madrasas across South Asia.
Today’s new lesson, a few lines to a page, memorized at home and recited to your teacher in class.
Recent revision of the last few days of lessons, so new verses settle before they are left behind.
Older revision that rotates through every juz you have memorized, so early surahs never fade.
Skipping sabqi or manzil is the most common reason Huffaz forget. In online Hifz classes, your teacher keeps all three in balance as your Hifz grows.
Timelines
It depends mostly on the size of your daily new lesson and how many days a week you study. The Madinah Mushaf has 604 pages, so the maths below assumes 5 study days a week.
| Daily New Lesson | Study Days | Rough Timeline |
|---|---|---|
| Half a page | About 1,208 days | About 4.6 years |
| One page | About 604 days | About 2.3 years |
| Two pages | About 302 days | About 1.2 years |
These are the fastest possible figures. Revision weeks, exams, travel and Ramadan add time, so real timelines are usually longer. A small daily target kept for years usually beats a big target dropped after a few months.
Comparison
A full time Hifz program fills most of the day with memorization, usually for homeschooled children or students taking a year out.
| Question | Full-Time Hifz | Part-Time Hifz |
|---|---|---|
| Daily time | Several hours of memorizing and revision | A 30 or 45-minute class plus home practice |
| Daily new lesson | One to two pages | A few lines to half a page |
| Suits | Homeschoolers and gap-year students | School children and working adults |
| Main challenge | Keeping pace without burning out | Keeping revision steady over years |
| At LQO | Ask us about extra daily classes | Our weekday plan, 20 classes a month |
A part time Hifz program is slower but fits real life, and steady students finish it too. Most students who take a Hifz course online choose this route.
Who It Is For
The Quran memorization program is open to anyone who reads the Quran fluently, at any age.
Tajweed First
Students who begin Quran memorization online need fluent reading and the core Tajweed rules first. Whatever you memorize is repeated thousands of times, so a mistake learned in week one stays for years.
If your reading still has gaps, your teacher may suggest a few months of our Tajweed course before your first sabaq. They will also check that you read the Mushaf without guessing words, because memorizing builds directly on reading.

Questions
Still have a question? Our team answers on WhatsApp and will help you pick the right course and time.
Yes. Hifz depends on reciting to a teacher who listens closely, and that works over a clear audio connection. Many students complete their Hifz Quran online, as long as daily practice and revision stay regular.
Many children start between about 7 and 10, once they read the Mushaf fluently. Adults can start at any age, and older students often rely more on understanding and revision than on speed.
You can memorize alone, but you cannot reliably check yourself. A teacher hears missed words, wrong vowels and mixed-up similar verses that you will not notice when reciting to yourself.
Forgetting is normal and is exactly what manzil revision is for. Your teacher slows the new lessons for a while and adds more revision until the weak juz are strong again.
Yes. Students in Britain take weekday classes after school in UK time, often with an extra weekend session for manzil. See our UK classes page for timings.
Your Hifz is complete when you can recite the whole Quran from memory to your teacher, juz by juz, with few mistakes. Strong Hifz means you can still do that a year later.
